4th PANAFEST by the Panamanian International Film Festival in Los Angeles (PIFF/LA)

PANAFEST is a Celebration of Latino Film and Culture! PANAFEST will be featuring screenings of shorts, documentaries, and feature films both from Panama and Latin American/U.S. Latino filmmakers, along with panel discussions, music and food. In its 4th edition, PANAFEST will also screen 360 VR short film

1. Filmmaker Jesus Nebot ( writer, actor, director, producer) of American Nightmare
The film will be showcased on the second day of the festival.

2. Carlos Carrasco, creator and Artistic Director of the Panamanian International Film Festival in los Angeles and Panafest. Carlos is well known for his Iconic Role as Popeye in the cult classic Film Blood in Blood Out, and his performance in Speed opposite Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock. Carlos has also been in many TV shows including  Star Trek, and HBO’s Looking, and Insecure. Carlo’s recent films include Turnover and Diablo Rojo (PTY).

3. Alejandro De Hoyos- Star and executive producer of El Contratista. Alejandro is the founder of the production company Alta California. He plays the role of El Cano.El Contratista will be the feature film showcased on opening night of the festival on October 27th.

El Contratista tells the story of a group of mercenaries who join their jaded veteran leader in protecting a boy whose activist family was murdered by the cartel. The film becomes a taut exploration of right and wrong with the impressionable child’s sense of morality hanging in the balance.
