Renowned couture designer, Sue Wong hosted her New Years’ Eve Fête to bring in 2016 at her hilltop mansion in Los Feliz. The designer is known for her glamorous silken gowns and cocktail dresses hand wrought in embroidery, beads and bangles. Sue’s creations recall a bygone era of the ’20s and ’30s. Sue Wong’s house, The Cedars, built in 1926 evokes a compatible Old Hollywood charm. Sue purchased the house in 2004, and invested time and money bringing the mansion back to its former glory. The Venetian style palazzo provides a perfect backdrop for her models to be photographed bedecked in Wong’s opulent apparel. The pillows, textiles and upholstery that adorn the furniture are designed also by Sue, as well as the vintage inspired lamps.

Silent screen star, Norma Talmadge resided in this magnificent spread back in the day. In the ’60s and ’70s, the house served as a retreat for Bob Dylan, Lou Reed, Jimi Hendrix and Dennis Hopper, to name a few. The Jimi Hendrix room, a Moroccan styled bedroom inspired Jimi to pen the tune, “Purple Haze.” Johnny Depp stayed in a bedroom dubbed the Talmage room when he was shooting “Ed Wood”, picking up on Bela Lugosi’s energy.

At the New Years’ Eve Fête, Sue Wong was ever the gracious and charming hostess, cordially greeting guests. The evening included a red carpet, open bar, appetizers, buffet dinner, and exceptional desserts prepared by Downey’s Desserts. The  entertainment  was an incredable mix of music.  A wonderful time was had by all; and the magic of the event signifies a promising 2016.

I personally j’adore Sue Wong and her Magnificent Creations! LA Variety  Magazine  looking forward cover  her next fashion installment.
