Baby…We Belong Together! is a musical set in the R&B nightclub scene in the late
1960’s and early 70’s. The show takes place at the “Proud Bird,” a dynamite LA hotspot
where the incomparable showstopper, Leon Trudeau, is captivating the audience with
his classic soul repertoire. Leon’s best friend and Music Director, Eddie Williams, leads
the fabulous, live backing band, “The Kings of Soul,” and Leon’s backup dancers, “The
Trudettes,” to deliver a knockout performance. Tonight, Leon’s dear friend, aspiring
vocalist Tammy Parker, joins Leon on stage to spark up the show to add that extra
musical fire!
Leon (as played by platinum recording artist Lamarr “Deuce” Lubin of the classic hip
hop group DRS) with his deep soul singing and explosive stage presence has always
been a favorite with the female patrons. But tonight one young lady, Shirley Wilson
(portrayed by Jania Foxworth, a Billboard Top 10 recording artist as well), catches his
fancy like none other. Shirley and her best friend Regina Michaels have come out to the
“Proud Bird” for a night on the town. They certainly get what they are looking for and so
much more!
