Concern Foundation Block Party to Honor Cancer Researchers
Concern Foundation will celebrate the 41st annual Block Party fundraiser
on Saturday, July 11, 2015.

The event, co-chaired by Lexy Carroll, David
Entin and Jessica Nicastro, will pay tribute to more than 750 cancer
researchers who have been funded by Concern in the past 46 years. We
honor their achievements as leaders in the cancer research community and
their dedication to finding new approaches in the quest to conquer cancer.
These extremely gifted and innovative men and women are the true heroes,
and Concern Foundation is proud to support them each year with the
proceeds from the Block Party. Many grant recipients from years past as
well as those currently funded will attend the Block Party for this special
Concern will also celebrate Dr. George Klein of the Karolinska Institute in
Stockholm, Sweden, as his 90th birthday falls during the same month as
the Block Party. George is not only a member of the Concern Foundation
Scientific Review Committee, but he is still an extremely active cancer
researcher and leader of a team of scientists who continue to make new
discoveries in cancer immunology.

Concern Foundation is an independent, volunteer-driven organization conceived in 1968 by a group of friends who wanted to make sure their dollars counted in the fight against cancer.

With 90-95% of net proceeds (based on 2013 financial audit) going directly to research, Concern has raised more than $57 million dollars and funded 750 cancer research scientists studying cancer, primarily in the areas of cancer genetics, cell biology, and immunology.

By specifically targeting promising post- doctoral scientists and providing critically needed “seed” money for innovative projects, Concern Foundation bridges the gap that currently exists in the scientific research community.

Since 1968, CONCERN FOUNDATION continues to be at the front-lines of cancer research.
