When we think about A-List celebrities, we think of movie stars like Hugh Jackman andNicole Kidman, along with other producers and directors in the film industry. In these moments, the farthest thing from our minds probably are the Olympic Games. Which is odd, considering that during their time in the spotlight, Olympic Champions like Greg Louganis, Missy Franklin, and other Gold Medalists do receive extraordinary amounts of media coverage, endorsements, and acclaim worldwide. wards and The Coca-Cola Company have put together an event which brings both worlds together in a showcase which allows Film stars and Olympic Stars to gather and meet. This is event

is called “Gold and Golden,” an extravagant brunch to bring together celebrities, award winners, and Olympic medalists which inspire each other and the rest of the world with their efforts.

The event was catered by celebrity chef Cat Cora and featured an array of treats with edible gold flakes, gold champagne, a gold-infused chocolate fountain, and even delicious caviar which was served inside of golden eggshells. Another feature at the brunch was a styling lounge by TwentyFourSeven Cosmetics, a premium skin care line which has previously only been available in European Markets.

Celebrities along with Olympians on the list for this event included Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman, Jessica Chastain, Greg Louganis, Caitlyn Jenner, Jon Bon Jovi, Missy Franklin, and many more. The event was kicked off by an exclusive musical performance by Keala Settle, who will be performing her award-nominated original song “This is Me” at the Golden Globes award ceremony.

The fifth anniversary event also wished luck to the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Winter Games athletes, who will begin competing the following month. To celebrate its historic connection to Hollywood and a 90-year association with the Olympic Games, The Coca-Cola Company transported guests through time to experience the history and impact of the Olympic movement. The iconic brand proudly displayed a rare collection of Olympic-themed memorabilia throughout the venue, celebrating historical connections to past-and-present Olympic greats and Hollywood icons. As the presenting sponsor of the Olympic Torch Relay, rare Olympic torches were on display. Guests were also be treated to eclectic culinary creations and Coke-themed food pairings by award-winning celebrity chef Cat Cora, including caviar in mini gold eggs and a gold-infused chocolate fountain.

Carrying a traditional torch for the event started with last year’s performance of LA LA Land’s “City of Stars,” which won the 2017 award, this year’s Gold Meets Golden stage was occupied by Tony award-nominated Keala Settle, who performed her Globe-nominated hit “This is Me” from 20th Century Fox’s “The Greatest Showman.” A preview of the athlete’s gear from Nike and Ralph Lauren wasl also be on display.
Hollywood and the Olympic Games have had a long and successful history of intersection. Popular films such as “Chariots of Fire,” “Cool Runnings,” “Miracle,” “Blades of Glory,” “Ali,” “International Velvet,” “The Cutting Edge,” “Unbroken,” “Race,” “Eddie the Eagle,” and the current “I, Tonya” have all featured the Olympic Games as their backdrop.
