LA Variety Magazine’s Continued Adventures in Santa Cruz and Aptos, Ca.

Written By: Marcelle - Jul• 30•13

Marcelle’s  most  Awesome Adventure in music, sailboat racing and dining all in one Majestic evening.  Every night different entertainment in the upstairs lounge. The night I was there my favorite! Brazilian  music. I love to samba!

Located right on the beach where the Harbor meets the sea, The Crow’s Nest is one of Santa Cruz’ most beloved restaurants. For over 40 years guests have returned again and again for breathtaking panoramic views of Santa Cruz Harbor, lighthouse and wharf, and to enjoy award-winning cuisine, spirits and live entertainment.

Daily breakfast, lunch and dinner in our downstairs dining room offer fresh seafood, pasta creations, Midwestern aged beef and daily chef’s specials. Upstairs, the Breakwater Bar & Grill features a variety of appetizers and casual meals throughout the day, and dancing to live entertainment by night.

On both levels, expansive shoreline decks offer a friendly, casual atmosphere, where rich woods, luminous works of glass art, and a unique collection of vintage surfboards and surfing photographs complete the unforgettable ambiance.

The Crow’s Nest is truly the flagship restaurant of the California coast.

The Mushroom Dome Cabin in Aptos. Vegged out!  Had total peace of mind for 4 days, nothing but goats, chickens, forrest and hummingbirds.

Although staying at Kitty and Michael’s Mushroom Dome is an experience all by itself, Kitty’s hospitality (and fresh goat milk!), and lovely home really rounded out our pleasant time here. Kitty is one of the most caring kindest souls around and she was a great host – we even watched her revive a baby hummingbird in her hands (no joke!). My biggest mistake during my trip was to not book more nights at the Mushroom Dome Cabin. The cabin was clean, fully equipped (full kitchen, bathroom, etc.), and the area around the cabin is very woodsy and beautiful. We had to do a later check-in and Kitty and Michael were very understanding and waited for us. I will definitely stay there again in the future.DOME CABIN #1 on airbnb
