YOU are invited to the launch of design LAb’s summer season art & design exhibitions at Pacific Design Center and MOCA’s VIP reception for “Tongue’s Untied” on Friday, June 5th from 6pm to 8pm.
Opening to the public on Friday, June 5 from 5—9:30 PM, the 12 exhibitions include VAROLA Gallery’s “Hot & Tasty: New Work by Allen Tombello,” an installation that revels in the comical underbelly of consumer-driven culture and Young Projects, Christoph Draeger’s “Destroyin’ LA” exhibition, which brings together the artist’s most celebrated works. Just to remind you, designLAb is visionary and real estate mogul Charles Cohen’s national arts program.
Furthering PDC’s arts mission, MOCA Pacific Design Center will be presenting “Tongues Untied,” titled after the landmark film by poet, activist, and artist Marlon Riggs, “Tongues Untied” focuses on queer artistic production in the 1980s and 90s.
The Pacific Design Center is also celebrating its 40th year with a permanent installation of leading French artist Xavier Veilhan, which will be on view beginning June 11.
