PROJECT ANGEL FOOD PRESENTS DIVINE DESIGN Thursday, December 5 – Sunday, December 8, 2013

Project Angel Food’s Divine Design is the largest charity shopping event on the West Coast, connecting shoppers to leading designer merchandise in home & fashion at heavily discounted prices beginning at 60% off retail and progressing to 80% off on the last day. 100% of the proceeds benefit Project Angel Food whose mission is to nourish the body and spirit of men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. This year there are 4 days of events which include a celebrity-hosted Opening Night Party, a First-Look Shopping Day & Cocktail Reception and 2 General Shopping Days, all at a new location, 8767 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills, CA 90211.

With Holiday preparations underway everywhere so too are preparations and changes for So Cal’s favorite charity sale, DIVINE DESIGN – the West Coast’s premier shopping event connecting shoppers to a wide array of designer fashion and home furnishings, décor and accessories, all sold at deep discounts to benefit Project Angel Food. For four consecutive days beginning on Thursday, December 5th and ending on Sunday, December 8th, Divine Design will be THE place to find the best in designer merchandise at a discount beginning at 60% off of retail. In the spirit of giving, shoppers can choose from incredible deals for everyone on their holiday list and still splurge on themselves, guilt free, knowing that every dollar spent at Divine Design helps Project Angel Food fulfill its mission to feed and nourish seriously ill and disadvantaged people throughout Los Angeles County.

After seven years at the former Robinsons-May department store, Divine Design is moving to a new location. Shoppers will be able to find this 22nd rendition of Divine Design in its new home for 2013 at 8767 Wilshire Blvd, Beverly Hills, CA 90211, the Kobor Family & Javor Family-owned building which sits on the prestigious northeast corner of Wilshire and Robertson Boulevards. Project Angel Food will take over the entire second floor to produce this year’s event. “We had a great run at 9900,” said Jacqui Farina, Director of Marketing and Special Events for Project Angel Food, referring to the Wilshire Blvd. address of former Robinsons-May building. “We were there for seven wonderful years, but with the property’s developer moving ahead with their plans, we needed to make a change.”

“We are grateful to the Kobor Family and the Javor Family for giving us such a fantastic venue to hold this year’s Divine Design,” noted Laurie Lang, CEO of Project Angel Food. “It is through the generosity of supporters like these and the many shoppers who come out and contribute to our cause, that Project Angel Food continues to be vital lifeline of hope and support to our neighbors in need.”

Divine Design will kick off on Thursday, December 5th with a star-studded Opening Night Shopping Party at 6:00 PM inside the 2013 Divine Design Marketplace at 8767 Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills. Chef Mohan Ismail of RockSugar Pan Asian Kitchen will be providing a selection of authentic Southeast Asian cuisine designed to complement the evening. Brown-Forman will be hosting the bar with Barefoot Wine & Bubbly offering a selection of wines.

Event Background
Divine Design was born in 1991 in response to the devastation the design community was experiencing from HIV/AIDS. Since its inception the proceeds from Divine Design have funded millions of nutritious meals for Angeleños in need and who might otherwise go without. Project Angel Food began in 1989 with daily meal service to 15 individual clients. This year, Project Angel Food will provide approximately 600,000 life-saving meals, along with nutritional counseling, free of charge to over 2000 men, women and children debilitated by disease and struggling with serious illness such as cancer, heart disease, HIV/AIDS, renal failure and stoke. Thanks to a devoted core of 3,700 volunteers, meals are cooked and delivered weekly to people’s homes throughout Los Angeles County.
